Empowering and supporting authors.

I am an experienced beta reader, proofreader, copywriter, and editor in a variety of genres, topics, and formats for indie authors. My enthusiasm for books dates started around age 10, when I actually was very late to reading, but that quickly changed when I discovered my love of reading, especially fantasy. I now read an average of 100 books a year, and hugely admire how indie authors are growing in popularity and changing the landscape of publishing.

With a passion for working with and empowering indie authors and linguists, I strive to provide high quality editorial services. Because tone of voice, typos, and plot holes do matter!

Additionally, I can provide consultation or management services for the translation or editing of self-published works, at an affordable rate and with more oversight and control than is offered through traditional publishing houses.

Language tech first to give the most support to human linguists.

After growing up with a mother who is a translator, and later going on to study linguistics myself, I always insisted I would never become a translator. What ended up happening though was finding my passion for project and vendor management in the language industry instead! I love working with linguists and the specific passion they bring to their projects.

Starting in my studies I came to realize that a lot of language tools, software and programs are incredibly out of date. Why does this matter? Well good software should make localization easier, smoother and require less of what I call “administrative clicking”. It should not be the aim to completely remove expert linguist oversight and involvement in the process. Good localization workflows take this into account, and I aim to empower both fellow project managers and linguists to ensure the highest quality project turnaround possible.

I have worked in multiple sides of the industry, including project and vendor management, content management, copywriting and marketing. I now offer my services as a freelance and contract localization project manager with a focus on language tools and workflow optimization.
